34th Can Am Sevens

This year’s event was again held at the Bellingham Rugby and Polo fields. This was
the 31st time that Chuckanut has hosted the tournament at this venue.

The tournament offered an Elite Division in both Men and Women and a Social
Division for Men. Thirty four matches were played and all officiated by the Pacific
Northwest Referee Society. Thanks must go to Mr. David Pelton for coordinating all
the officials on the day.

Defending Champion OPSB from Seattle, made it to the final with victories over
The Guardians 28-7, 29-17 over WWU, and 28-22 over Seattle Rovers. Chuckanut
got to the final for the first time since 1979 with victories over Bellevue 21-19, 33-15
over Rovers, and a Semi final win over the Guardians.

Old Puget Sound Beach took home the Can Am Cup with a convincing 37-7 win
over Chuckanut Bay.

Marc Steiger from Chuckanut Bay was voted Tournament MVP.
